The holiday season is upon us! One of the most joyful parts of the season is the traditions we do with those we love. Some people grow up with traditions that have been passed down for generations while others may be looking for a new tradition to start this year.
There are so many different holiday traditions, whether totally unique or some of the classic traditions that so many people do, each is something to look forward to. I am so excited to share with you some of my holiday traditions, maybe you will want to add some to your holiday to do list this year as well.
Watching holiday movies is a staple in so many people's holiday itinerary . Every year to kick off the Christmas season I watch the Grinch on Thanksgiving night right after the Turkey dinner. Ever since I was a little girl I loved watching the Jim Carey version of the Grinch at Christmas time and I have continued watch it every year as have grown into an adult.
A few years back a tradition I started with my fiancé that I have now come to love is a Christmas Eve box. In the box I put matching pajamas, a mug and gourmet hot chocolate. I try to add in a few different things on top of the every year staples as well, such as some popcorn for a movie night or a board game. The intention is to have the box be about spending time together and slowing down from the hustle and bustle from the holiday.
With the sweet tooth I have, one of my most favorite holiday traditions is all of the cookies. I love baking cookies and trying out new cookie recipes around the holidays, which are never quite as delicious as I would hope, however they still get eaten. I love that so many of my family and friends have a similar tradition, so I can enjoy cookies all season long.
